Terms of Service

Last Updated: March 26, 2026

Welcome to reversetax.cashluom.online. These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of this website, including all calculator tools, content, features, and related services (collectively referred to as "the Service"). By visiting this site or using any of our tools, you agree to follow and be bound by these terms in full. If any part of these terms does not sit right with you, please do not continue using the Service.

1. Who We Are

Cashluom is an independent, small-team project focused on building free financial calculator tools for everyday use. We are not a bank, an accounting firm, or a licensed tax advisory service. We are a group of developers and finance enthusiasts who saw a gap in available tools for reverse-calculating sales tax, and decided to fill it with something fast, accurate, and genuinely useful. Our flagship tool — the Reverse Sales Tax Calculator — helps users extract the original pre-tax price from a total that already includes tax.

2. What the Service Does (and What It Does Not Do)

Our calculator tools are built for informational and educational purposes. They perform mathematical operations based on the numbers you type in. Here is a straightforward breakdown of what the Service does and does not offer:

What We Do

  • Perform reverse tax calculations using the standard mathematical formula
  • Support single-item and multi-item (invoice/bulk) calculations
  • Provide pre-filled state sales tax rates for all 45 US states that charge sales tax
  • Show step-by-step explanations of every calculation
  • Allow CSV, Excel, and PDF export of invoice breakdowns
  • Store your recent calculations locally in your own browser

What We Do Not Do

  • Provide tax advice, tax planning, or filing assistance
  • Guarantee that the pre-filled state tax rates are current or complete (local rates change frequently)
  • Replace professional accounting, legal, or tax consultation
  • Collect, store, or transmit any of the financial data you enter
  • File taxes on your behalf or connect to any government system

3. Accuracy and Limitations of Calculations

The core formula behind the Reverse Sales Tax Calculator is straightforward: Original Price = Total Price ÷ (1 + Tax Rate). This formula is mathematically correct and the results are accurate to the penny when the inputs are correct.

That said, there are important things to keep in mind:

  • Your inputs matter most. The accuracy of any result depends entirely on what you type in. If you enter the wrong tax rate, you will get a number that looks right but is not.
  • Tax rates change. State sales tax rates in the US are set by legislation and are relatively stable. However, county and city rates can change as often as every quarter. The rates in our state dropdown are baseline state-level rates drawn from publicly available data. They may not include your specific local, district, or special-purpose taxes.
  • Real-world tax can be complicated. Certain products are taxed at different rates. Some items are exempt in certain states. A few jurisdictions use tax-inclusive pricing rather than the more common tax-exclusive pricing. Our calculator assumes the standard US model where tax is added on top of the shelf price.
  • Rounding matters in accounting. Our calculator rounds to two decimal places using standard rounding rules. In rare edge cases, this might differ from how your local tax authority rounds, especially on very large invoices with many line items.

If you need exact numbers for official tax filings, reporting, or audit preparation, we strongly recommend cross-checking our results with a certified public accountant or your state's Department of Revenue.

4. Your Responsibilities as a User

When you use the Service, you agree to the following:

  • You will not use the calculator results as a substitute for qualified professional advice on tax, legal, or financial matters.
  • You understand that you are responsible for verifying the accuracy of any tax rate you enter, especially if you plan to use the results for business accounting, expense reporting, or tax filing.
  • You will not attempt to disrupt the operation of the website, inject malicious code, scrape the site at high volume, or use automated tools to extract data in a way that degrades the experience for others.
  • You will not reproduce, redistribute, or sell the content, code, or design of this website without explicit written permission.

5. Intellectual Property

Everything you see on this website — the design, the calculator interface, the written content, the code behind the tools, the logo, and the visual assets — is original work created by the Cashluom team and is protected by copyright. You are welcome to use the calculator itself as much as you'd like, and you can share links to it freely. But copying the tool's design, replicating its code, or reproducing substantial portions of the content for your own website is not permitted without our written consent.

6. Third-Party Links

We may occasionally link to external websites for reference or additional context — for example, to a state's Department of Revenue page or to a helpful tax resource. We do not control those websites, and we are not responsible for their content, accuracy, privacy practices, or availability. Following a link away from our site is done at your own discretion.

7. Data and Privacy

We take a straightforward approach to data: we do not collect the financial numbers you type into the calculator. All calculations happen entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Nothing you enter is transmitted to our servers or stored anywhere by us.

We do use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand general traffic patterns — things like how many people visit, which pages are popular, and what devices people use. This data is anonymized and aggregated. It does not include anything you type into the calculator.

For the complete picture, please read our Privacy Policy.

8. Limitation of Liability

This is the part where we need to be very clear. To the fullest extent allowed by law:

Cashluom, its team, contributors, and affiliates shall not be held liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. This includes — but is not limited to — financial losses from tax miscalculations, incorrect business decisions based on calculator results, lost profits, or missed tax deadlines.

We built this tool to be helpful, and we believe it is. But at the end of the day, it is a calculator. The responsibility for how you use the numbers it gives you rests with you.

9. Indemnification

You agree to defend and hold harmless Cashluom and its operators from any claims, damages, liabilities, or expenses (including reasonable attorney fees) arising out of your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.

10. Service Availability

We aim to keep the website running smoothly around the clock, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. The site may occasionally be unavailable due to server maintenance, hosting issues, or factors beyond our control. We will not be liable for any downtime or interruptions.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time as the service evolves. When we make meaningful changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to check back occasionally. If you continue to use the site after a revision, that counts as your acceptance of the new terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be interpreted and governed in accordance with the laws of the United States. Any disputes arising from the use of this website will be resolved through the applicable legal channels.

13. Contact Us

If anything in these Terms is unclear, or if you have a question about how we operate, feel free to reach out through our Contact page. We read every message, and we are always happy to have a conversation about how our tools work.
